1. Who is eligible for Indigent Assistance?

Residents of Gooding County in need of necessary medical services that do not have income or other resources available sufficient to pay for such services.

2. Where can I get an application for assistance?

All emergency medical applications originate from the hospital. Non-emergent and non-medical applications may be obtained from County Services Office in the Gooding County Courthouse.

3. Does the County help with power or natural gas bills?

Yes.
* You must be a Gooding County resident.
* Not used Project Share in the last year.
* Bill must be "past due".
* Must bring proof of household income (earned and unearned for all adults in
household).
* Must have made a payment in the last 3 months.
* Must be the person who's name is on the bill.
* Must provide ID's for all household members.

4. Will the County help me pay my rent?

The County does offer one (1) month rental assistance with the landlord's guarantee that you may stay in your home for at least one (1) month. Requirements include a referral from South Central Community Action, an eviction notice, a completed County Application, and an interview with the Required Documentation

5. Will I have to pay the Indigent program back?

Yes. The Indigent Program is a reimbursement program. Once the application has been approved for assistance, a repayment schedule is approved and formalized in a reimbursement agreement.
