ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs a variety of duties related to the Gooding County Elections Clerk and Board of Community Guardian Coordinator. 

Election Clerk: Duties will include but not limited to; assisting the county Election Director as needed.  Will perform clerical and office duties. 

Will perform a variety of functions related to the planning and coordination of elections for Gooding County. Works with the public, political subdivisions, secretary of state and other interested persons on election requirements, regulations and laws. Assists in the coordination of the polling places and poll workers assistants.  Prepares documents for publication and printing.  Assisting in maintaining voter registration system for Gooding County. Responsible for all aspects of the elections, as assigned.   

Board of Community Guardians Coordinator Summary:  Serve as the Coordinator for the Gooding County Board of Community Guardians. The Coordinator will provide technical and responsible administrative assistance to the Board of Community Guardians, with the duties including but not limited to; managing, directing and accomplishing the day-to-day clerical operations of the Board.  Creating agendas, attending meetings and preparing minutes of the Board of Community Guardians. Assist in recruiting and training Volunteer Guardians and Board Members; monitoring activities of Volunteer Guardians and Board Members to ensure compliance with established standards of conduct and state law; and ensure that the Board of Community Guardians fulfills its duty in submitting timely annual reports to the Court and to the Board of Gooding County Commissioners.

Board of Community Guardians Coordinator you will be responsible for, including but not limited to:

  • Review all referral applications and provide an initial screening to determine whether the application contains sufficient information for the full Board to review the application.
  • Investigate the facts and circumstances as set forth in the referral application.
  • Obtain financial documentation and medical records regarding the proposed Ward.
  • Create and forward the case summary to the Board, with relevant information, and recommendations.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with community resources to meet client’s need.
  • Develop accurate and complete client records and documentation. 
  • Completes all reports required by IDAPA.
  • Monitor Wards and meet face to face a minimum of quarterly.
  • Monitor’s Board and Guardian’s compliance with standards.
  • Assists Board, Guardian, and Wards to address and solve problems.
  • Research and maintain current knowledge of community resources.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Court community service providers, volunteers and community resources.
  • Maintain regular contact with Guardianship and Conservatorship Coordinator for District 5.
  • Provide training to Board members and Guardians on a quarterly basis.
  • Organize and participate in resource fairs, community outreach and program development.
  • Seek donations.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all cases.
  • Assist in the Recorders office as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Will work confidently with the public for other requested county assistance programs for; rent assistance, utilities, burials and assistance in kind, etc.

Carries out other duties as assigned by the Gooding County Clerk and department supervisor. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

   Education and Experience

  • Valid Idaho Driver’s License.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Computer experience, keyboarding and word processing knowledge.

  • Must maintain a good attendance record.   Excessive absences will not be tolerated.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIROMENT

  • Both indoors and outdoors working environments.
  • Work involving frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, and lifting heavy objects. 
  • Lifting of heavy boxes containing files, paper, ballot boxes, and record books.
  • Climbing on a ladder.
  • Works days and evening hours could vary.
  • Deputy Clerks will work between 35-40 hours.
