Job Description Here Noxious Weed Control Technician

 

Department: Noxious Weed Control  Reports to: Superintendent   FLSA Status: (Non-Exempt)                                                    Date Established: 4/1994                   Amounts ($15.00 to $21.75)     Paygrade: (5)                                                    

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Possess a valid driver's license

Maintain an Idaho State Department of Agriculture (ISDA) Professional Pesticide Applicator License

Prepare pesticide application records and calculate associated costs.

Ability to work long hours with little or no supervision.

Map weed infestations within the jurisdiction

 

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain vehicles and spraying equipment

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY OF THE JOB 

Licensed by the State of Idaho as a Professional Applicator

Knowledge in Plant Identification

Legible Hand Writing Skills

Basic knowledge of mapping software

 

ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

High School Diploma or GED

Previous Pesticide Application Experience a plus

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIROMENT

Job requires many hours outdoors during the spring, summer and early fall months.

Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, reaching, sitting, pushing, pulling, walking, lifting (50 lbs.) talking and hearing.

Operation of pesticide application equipment to include backpack sprayers, motorized pumps with handgun and All Terrain Vehicles equipped with sprayers and Heavy Duty 4x4 vehicles with 150-260 gallon water tanks.

 

Drug Free Idaho Work Place
