Employment Opportunity Assistant Public Defender
The Gooding County Public Defender's Office is seeking a full-time Assistant Public Defender. This
position is for the performance of professional legal work representing indigent adults and
juveniles. A successful applicant will primarily provide misdemeanor-level criminal defense with
opportunities to handle other levels of public defense cases. Duties including pretrial and trial
preparation; litigating all aspects of the case through disposition at the trial court level;
relevant motion practice; and appearing at regularly scheduled court hearings. A successful
candidate must be licensed to practice law in the State of Idaho and have a strong work ethic,
positive attitude, and ability to work respectfully and collaboratively in a team environment.
Annual salary is $60,000-$65,000 DOE with county benefits including health insurance and PERSI
retirement. This position is contingent on funding and is to be funded on a year to year by grant.
