Consideration on Property Exemption
Pursuant to IC§63-602NN
The Gooding County Board of County Commissioners will hold a Public Meeting on February 24, 2022 at 6:00 pm at the Gooding County Courthouse, Commissioners meeting room, 624 Main St. Gooding, ID.
The Public Meeting is to consider granting a Property Tax Exemption pursuant IC§63-602NN to Equilon Enterprise dba SOPUS (Shell Oil Products US).
Equilon Enterprises LLC, Shell Oil US has applied for a Plant Investment Tax Exemption for a manure to Renewable Natural gas digestor facility. Their application states “Significant Benefits the proposed project will bring: Job opportunities, reduced odor from manure due to Hydrogen Sulfide extractions, Power substation upgrades for the local community work, $2 million improving the areas power supply capacity, access to renewable natural gas in the existing pipeline, social investment initiatives including providing new gas monitors for Wendell Fire Department”
They have agreed on a land lease for the project and are ready to start construction of assets worth $101.5 million. Number of new, full time jobs created: 7.
Their application reflects “New Capital Investment Amounts: Land: $0.00, Land Improvements: $0.00, Improvements to Real Property: $101.5 million, Personal Property: $0.00, Training $0.00.”
Equilon Enterprises LLC, Shell Oil US has requested exemption percentage of Real Property: 100% and Personal Property: 100%, for five years.
1st year: $23 million, 2nd year $77.5 million, 3rd year $1 million.
