Mapper/Deed Processor

The Gooding County Assessor’s Office is hiring a Mapper/Deed Processor. 

This position will make changes to the ownership-of-record by processing deeds and other legal documents, and maintain paper cadastral and electronic plat maps of all the real property parcels in Gooding County. This position processes property splits and combinations and calculates parcel acreages and dimensions by reading legal descriptions. The mapper/deed processor often works closely with the public to assist with questions and with the Idaho State Tax Commission to help maintain a state-wide parcel map database. The mapper/deed processor also works closely with other office staff to complete duties and assist the public.

A successful candidate will enjoy working with the public. They will have an attention to detail, be a team player and have a high level of computer aptitude. They need to have patience, ethics and be able to work and stay organized under limited supervision. 

Helpful skills include being able to read a legal description, knowledge of basic math and geometry, experience with deeds and recordings, and knowledge of ArcGIS software.

This position will require the employee to attend and pass several classes in order to obtain certification as a mapper with the Idaho State Tax Commission. Ongoing education will be necessary to maintain this certification.

The Mapper/Deed Processor position starts at $16/hr. DOE with a 35 hour/four day work week. Benefit package includes PERSI, and health insurance coverage for the employee.
