JOB OPENING
Job Title: Patrol Deputy
Starting Pay: $20.46 an hour. Pay increases to $20.86/hour after certification through the Idaho P.O.S.T. Academy. Shifts are 12 hours long and you will work 14 days during a 28 day pay period. Every other weekend is a 3-day weekend.

Requirements are:
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or G.E.D
• Be able to pass the P.O.S.T. physical test (requirements can be found on the Idaho P.O.S.T. website)
• Work rotating weekends, holidays, day shift, swing, or night shift (12-hour shifts)
• Valid Idaho drivers’ license
• Pass a polygraph
• Must pass back ground check

PATROL DEPUTY JOB DESCRIPTION:
Each deputy in the employ of the Gooding County Sheriffs Office must be able
to perform the following;
1 Move a 76 pound object physically 1 yard
2 Pursue suspects on foot for 5l yards
3 Use weaponless force ln combat
4 Use defensive weapons
5 Use restraint devices
6 Operate a patrol vehicle
7 lnterview persons
8 Transport high risk persons
9 Respond to high risk situations in progress
10 Negotiate with people
11 Safely discharge firearms
12 conduct searches of people, vehicles and buildings
13 Provide emergency first aid
14 Possess observation skills
15 Assess hazardous situations
15 Operate emergency radios
17 Serve arrest warrants
Abilities: Static, dynamic and trunk strength, extension and dynamic flexibility,
manual and finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, gross body coordination,
speed of limb movement and mobility
Operate: Mechanical tools, computers, chemical agents, handcuffs, firearms.
Work Long Hours ln: Hot and cold weather, while seated, standing, bending,
reaching, pushing, kneeling, pulling, lifting, turning and standing, turning and
sitting, crawling, handling and feeling; handle dogs, armed suspects,
emotionally disturbed and hostile people and dangerous equipment
