Emergency Orders were signed today declaring an emergency in Gooding County in response to COVID-19. This was not done for any major change in our situation (there are still no confirmed cases in the County). It was done to allow the County to react more expediently to this rapidly changing situation and ensure that Gooding County will be considered for relief as it becomes available. It is the elected officials’ firm belief that this proactive action will aid in the safety, health and welfare of the citizens of Gooding County.
The following changes will take place at the start of business on Tuesday 03/24/2020, until further notice (the situation will be reviewed on a daily basis):
-The County Service Building (Planning & Zoning, DMV/Driver’s License, Assessor’s Office and Treasurer’s Office) will be closed to the public. These offices will remain staffed, during regular business hours, to provide as much assistance as possible through phone, fax and email communications. Drop boxes as well as Point and Pay are still available. The statewide 90-day grace period on most DMV issues is still in effect. Please be advised that Governor Brad Little has also announced that the
deadline to file for Property Tax Reduction, Property Tax Deferral and the
Veterans 100% Service Connected Property Tax benefit has been extended to June
15, 2020.
-The main courthouse building will still be limited to one entrance. Your temperature will be taken at the door. Anyone testing at or above 100.4 will not be allowed entrance.
